Early Field Playtest

In this video we’re testing a few different things at once:

  • Color based camera vision for position tracking
  • Rectifying coordinates in skewed camera angles
  • An attack concept

You can see in the birds eye view a video feed with a bunch of dots overlaid on top. Blue boxes are color blobs. Green dots are the center of the blobs and counted as raw player coordinates and red dots are after being rectified.

The attack concept is that if any player were to circle an opponent an attack would be registered, to defend the attack the victim would have to run in the same rotation. In practice it’s pretty impossible to ever successfully attack anyone. But it’s fun to try!
